There are a number of ways to register for the GACE. Applicants can register online up to 5 p.m. EST of the deadline date set for each test. Late or emergency GACE registration can also be done online, but will be assessed an additional fee. Candidates can register by mail but should remember that the postmark date for regular registration must be no later than the registration deadline. Late registrations done by mail must be received (not postmarked) by 5 p.m. on the late registration deadline date. Emergency registration is not available via U.S. mail. A third option is to register by telephone. This option is not offered for regular or late registrations, but only for emergency registration by calling (800) 523-7064 or (413) 256-2894 between 9 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday EST, except on holidays.
Register to take the GACE Test at the GACE website. Before completing GACE registration, applicants are encouraged to carefully review test descriptions to ensure that they are registering for the correct examination. Some tests may fill quickly. Candidates must pay all registration fees when they sign up.
Changes to registration date, test subject, or location can be accomplished online or by mail by filing a Change of Registration Request form and paying an additional fee. Withdrawals require a Withdrawal/Refund Request form submitted by fax or U.S. mail no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline for late registration for that test in order to receive a partial refund.
Registration fees are dependent upon which test or tests are chosen. There is an additional $30 fee for late registration. Emergency GACE registration will add $50. Additional services are available, and fees vary.
If registering online, payment can be made with VISA or MasterCard. Debit or check cards that feature a VISA or MasterCard insignia and don't need a PIN are also accepted. Mail registration should include a personal check or money order.
