In this brief article, we provide you with the pertinent information needed to prepare for the GACE Science Test. Passing this exam is critical, as anyone who fails will be disqualified from teaching science in a Georgia public school. The test is divided into two equal exams. The first exam tests for knowledge in earth science and life science, and every possible subtopic. It's very wide ranging. So is the second exam, which has the broad topics of physical science and characteristics of science. Neither test should be underestimated; many people need the entire four hours allotted to complete both tests. Each exam contains 60 multiple-choice questions and two constructed-response questions. Eighty percent of the total score is based on the former, and 20 percent is based on the latter. Scores can range from 100 up to 300, but the lowest acceptable passing score on the GACE Science Test is 220.
